Covina Community Church Invites You to Rainbow Day!

Rainbow Day will serve as a celebration of Covina Community Church’s open and affirming 3rd anniversary, and hopefully help announces the Church’s presence to the San Gabriel Valley in a new way. With PFLAG and Penny Lance Center as partners, Sunday, October 28th is set up to be an exciting day of worship, learning, and sharing.

A music filled worship service, featuring guest musicians David Ruby and Avery Roberts, will kickstart this high energy day at 10 am, followed by lunch at noon, and workshops from 1 – 3 pm. Workshops include; “Coming Out to Parents and Kids,” “What Does it Mean to Be Trans,” “What the Bible Really Says About Homosexuality,” and “Seeking Justice Without Hating.” Volunteers from PFLAG, Summer Gomez (LCSW) of the Penny Lane Center, Rev. Clemette Haskins of The Haven, and Rev. Lee Yates of Covina Community Church will provide leadership through the day.

Rainbow Day takes its name from “the Rainbow Church,” a common nickname for the congregation the neighborhood. Covina Community Church has started claiming that name in various forms of communication, just recently adding the moniker to their website.

More information is available at www.CovinaCommunityUCC.org. RSVPs are appreciated but not required and participants can attend all or any portion of Rainbow Day. You can share your plans to attend through the website or on MeetUp.Com through the group “Rainbow Church.”
