Emergency Foster Parents for Shelter Program

Do you feel called to work with at risk children and teens? Seneca Family of Agencies is in need of emergency foster parents for our shelter program. We are currently accepting applications for couples and single persons who have a heart for children and teens in need of a loving, caring home. Here is a little more information around the services we provide:

San Luis Obispo County’s Emergency Foster Care is a county funded program available for foster youth ages 0-21 who are in need of urgent placement. Emergency Shelter is provided for up to 60 days, depending on the youth’s case and situation. Seneca Clinician and Family Support Counselor work closely with Child Welfare Social Workers and staff in order to identify the youth’s needs during their stay until their next placement is decided.  Seneca staff provide both youth and Emergency Foster Parents with therapeutic interventions that focus on supporting the youth during their placement transitions as well as providing a safe space for youth to process their trauma and life experiences.
