From MLK to BHM: Resources to Celebrate and Advocate
Updated: Feb 20

Multiple MLK Celebrations offer resources for Black History Month celebrations in February.
The first is from a long-term partnership of congregations in San Diego, hosting their annual MLK event on Zoom. The video of the full event can bee found here: https://youtu.be/7qtZXUzSMic
The second is a new event hosted by Morningside UCC and Covina Community UCC.
This event centered around readings from Dr. King's 1967 book, "Where Do We Go from Here?" which is a prophetic in today's context. A full length video of the event (45 min) and individual videos of each song and reading are available on Covina Community Church's YouTube channel.

Music is provided by artists from Morningside UCC and Covina Community UCC.
The poem is by Gwen Cathey, a member of Morningside UCC. A copy of the poem is available, along with the scripts for the readings in a Google-drive folder.
This event was an outgrowth of our SCNC Conversations On Racism, held each Wednesday.
