A Youth Roundtable Sponsored Event

What: A One-Day Service Project of Youth Uniting in Mission (YUM)
Who: Jr. & Sr. High youth (6th-12th grades) and their Adult Leaders
When: Saturday April16th, 2011 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Cost: $10.00 per participant Plus a food Item for a Local Food Bank
Where: We have two venues happening simultaneously! One in Claremont, CA hosted by Claremont United Church of Christ; one in San Diego Hosted by Mission Hills United Church of Christ.

Claremont United Church of Christ - We will be meeting at the church (233 West Harrison Ave Claremont, CA) at 10:00 AM for some opening icebreakers and "Getting to Know You" activities. We will join (via Skype) with the other venue in San Diego for a prayer. We will be traveling to a Food Bank in Ontario (See Map Download on right, Youth Leaders are asked to drive their groups) to do some service work there. We will be returning to the church for lunch. We will continue our service project with the assembly of Hygiene Kits. We will be finishing our day with talking to the the other venue in San Diego and a brief worship.

Mission Hills United Church of Christ - We will be meeting at the church (4070 Jackdaw Street San Diego, CA) at 10:00 AM for some opening icebreakers and "Getting to Know You" activities. We will join (via Skype) with the other venue in Claremont for a prayer. We will have some lunch. We will be traveling to Shelter Island and partnering with "I Love a Clean San Diego" for our beach clean-up (See Map Download on right, Youth Leaders are asked to drive their groups). We will be returning to the church and finish our day with talking to the the other venue in Claremont and a brief worship.

Registration Forms can be downloaded from the link on the right. One registration per person please. Please bring registrations to the event. Please call or email Neal Washburn that you are coming, which venue you will be visiting, and how many people will be coming with you.

Special Note: in order to build the Hygiene Kits, we need raw material: Lotion, Shampoo, Soap, Hand Soap, Toothbrush/toothpaste, Small towel, Comb, Feminine Hygiene, Deodorant, and Razors. We are seeking contributions from churches in the Conference and we will purchase the raw materials. Please make checks payable to SCNC-UCC
