Prof. Amy-Jill Levine at Irvine United Congregational Church

Amy-Jill Levine, internationally recognized New Testament scholar and teacher, will speak at Irvine United Congregational Church on Friday, March 9 at 7:00 pm.  Her topic will be “Jesus and Judaism: The Connection Matters.”

Dr. Levine is University Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies at Vanderbilt Divinity School.  She is the author of The Misunderstood Jew: The Church and the Scandal of the Jewish Jesus and Short Stories by Jesus: The Enigmatic Parables of a Controversial Rabbi, and with children’s author Sandy Eisenberg Sasso, Who Counts? 100 Sheep, Ten Coins, and Two Sons.  She co-edited, with Marc Z. Brettler, The Jewish Annotated New Testament.
