Workshop on the Experience of Palestinian Christians

Rachel Shomali is a 21 year old Palestinian Christian from the West Bank. She is a student at Birzeit University where she is a junior studying Marketing. Rachel spent her childhood living in Michigan, but moved with her family back to Palestine at the age of 12. Last summer she worked with Disciples Peace Fellowship & Global Ministries as a Peace Intern/Missionary-in-Residence leading workshops about the Occupation of Palestine in church camps around the USA. Rachel is serving as an intern in our Region this summer, with her home-base at Vista La Mesa Christian Church. She is here to offer a “ministry of presence”, giving a face to the Palestinian struggle and helping us understand it better.
