Deepening the Practice of Youth Ministry
Working with youth in church can be difficult task. Join others who work with youth for a day of connection, worship, education and renewal.

Youth Ministry is a ministry of transition – how do we retain young people in our congregations and in the Church overall when we know that 40-50% of our youth group graduates are leaving the church?  Together, led by our speaker, we’ll examine how an intergenerational approach to ministry can provide an answer to this question.  Our day will also be filled with plenty of time to connect with others who work with youth in the Southern California Nevada Area.

Our Speaker: Rev. Melissa Cooper

rev-melissa-cooperRev. Melissa Cooper is an ordained deacon in the United Methodist Church, the Program Coordinator for the Life Enrichment Center, a retreat and conference center in Fruitland park, FL, and the director of LECFamily, a ministry that includes intergenerational retreats and camps, resources for families and churches, as well as training and workshops for local churches and leaders.

Melissa has a passion for the present and future of the Church and loves helping to equip churches to expand and strengthen their ministries.  She consults with churches around the country to develop intergenerational culture, and has spoken at numerous local, regional and national events on the subject of intergenerational ministry and cross-generational faith formation.
