Bloom in the Desert Ministries UCC 7th Annual Spring Fling Cabaret

SpringFling2016“Freedom’s Song in Bloom,” A Celebration of the Struggle for Equality, is the show theme for the 7th Annual Spring Fling Cabaret & Silent Auction benefiting Bloom in the Desert Ministries, Friday, March 4, 2016, 6pm to 9pm. The new show features Carnegie Hall-bound Cathedral City High School Lion’s Pride Chamber Singers, teaming with locally esteemed performers Keisha D, Jerome Elliott, and Charles Herrera. Creative direction is by Charlie Creasy and Scott Davis. Coachella Valley social justice activist Paul Zak will receive the second annual Bloom in the Desert Ministries Community Justice Award. The Just Sax quartet will provide dinner music.

“Freedom’s Song in Bloom” honors a variety of historic struggles for equality and celebrates progress made toward a more inclusive society.

For only $80, participants will enjoy dinner, the show, a huge silent auction, and raffles at the recently remodeled DoubleTree by Hilton Golf Resort Mesquite Ballroom, 28-555 Landau Boulevard in Cathedral City. Bloom in the Desert Ministries is a United Church of Christ and Reconciling Ministries congregation that celebrates diversity, friendship and service. The fundraising ensures continuing ministries among houseless, working poor, underprivileged school children, valley musicians, LGBT activists, seniors, and peace and justice advocates.
