Retirement Housing Foundation (RHF) is pleased to announce that they have presented a check for $22,788.34 to the United Church of Christ’s (UCC) Disaster Ministries while at their General Synod on June 27th, 2015.  This donation will be used to help those affected by the devastating earthquakes in Nepal that occurred earlier this year.

In response to the extreme need for on‐the‐ground relief efforts in Nepal after the disaster, RHF made a pledge to partner with the UCC Disaster Relief and match any donations channeled through RHF by June 15th, 2015.  $11,394.17 in donations was received by RHF from individuals, RHF communities, and their partner UCC congregations before the deadline.   100% of these donations, plus the matching donation given by RHF, will be used for Nepal disaster relief; the UCC does not use any of these funds for administrative costs.

“This campaign is a wonderful illustration of what can happen when we come together as a community, and your gifts will provide help to those who so desperately need it right now,” said Rev. Dr. Laverne Joseph, President and CEO of RHF.  “I am humbled by the generous spirit of our residents, staff, friends, and the United Church of Christ congregations, as together we continue to make a difference in people’s lives. Thank you again to all who participated in this campaign.”
