Board of Cultural Arts announces a


Benefit Concert for Japanese Fukushima Disaster Relief 


Sunday afternoon, June 10 at 2 pm


at the First Congregational Church of Long Beach

located at 241 Cedar Avenue (corner of Cedar and Third Street) in downtown Long Beach.


     The concert will feature highly acclaimed concert pianist and ASCAP award winning composer Akiko Dohi and Grammy award winning Koto artist and innovative composer Yukiko Matsuyama. Ms. Dohi will perform classical and Latin music as well as her own compositions. Ms. Matsuyama will perform her own special blend of world and pop music. The Koto, Japan’s national instrument, is a 13-string zither or harp. CDs featuring the artists will be for sale.

     A $25 or above per person donation is suggested, all of which will go the people of Fukushima.
