Sex Trafficking: How Communities and People of Faith Can Break the Cycle of Sex Trafficking

April 26-28, 2012, Centro Romero

This consultation and immersion experience will focus on commercial sexual exploitation on both sides of the border. This consultation will bring together religious and community leaders with researchers and practitioners who work to enforce trafficking laws and provide direct support and prevention intervention. We will look to develop connections for future collaborative research, advocacy, and program development focusing on sex trafficking in the Southwest U.S. border region, and equip participants to educate the members of our communities on the subject of human trafficking, particularly about the needs and risks of those victimized by the commercial sex industry.
