Songs of the New Depression

In conjunction with World AIDS day, ChOTF Member Kergan Edwards-Stout will be reading from and signing copies of his debut novel, Songs for the New Depression, on Thursday December 1st, from 7:00 PM-8:00 PM in the church sanctuary.

Inspired by his partner who died from AIDS, the novel is getting terrific reviews, and Kergan will be donating 30% of the book event sales to AIDS Services Foundation.  Books will be available for purchase at the event in hardcover ($23.99) and paperback ($15.99), by cash or check, with e-books available for purchase online.  Hope to see you there!

REVIEWS:
“Edwards-Stout infuses reality and hopefulness into a bittersweet story about compassion and personal growth.  A distinctively entertaining novel written with moxie and bolstered by pitch-perfect perspectives.” – Kirkus Reviews

“Kergan Edwards-Stout has crafted a work of fiction reminiscent of some classic tales in Songs for the New Depression.  Even better, Edwards-Stout’s debut boasts the kind of dark humor that made Augusten Burroughs (Running With Scissors, Dry) a household name.”  – Advocate.com and HIVPlusmag.com

“Songs for the New Depression is a bold reminder that life, especially in its most difficult moments, is worth living.  His characters are real and poignant, his writing is magical, and his message is timeless.  It is an important book.” – Charles Perez, journalist, author, and founder of the No Shame Project
