Justice Leaders Engaging & Developing
By The Rev. Jeanne Favreau-Sorvillo
Does your congregation have a passion for justice?
Justice Leaders Engaging and Developing (Justice LED) is a training program offered by Justice & Witness Ministries (JWM) designed to equip local church leaders with the skills and tools needed to develop, strengthen and sustain justice advocacy ministries in congregations.
It is a fantastic curriculum that includes interactive scripture study, engaging video resources, and guided reflection and dialogue for groups. Justice LED offers your congregation an opportunity to engage in theological reflection on the justice dimensions of Christian faith and discipleship, and ultimately, to discern and act on justice issues that you have passion and energy for in ways that make sense to you. Justice LED is not issue-based. Rather, it is a wholistic approach that deepens theological understanding to form the foundation from which to engage justice issues of your particular concerns, contexts and capabilities.
A team of regional trainers in the SCNCUCC is ready to bring this exciting program to your congregation. Your church leadership team (pastor and 2-4 members) will be equipped with skills in discernment, facilitation, dialogue, and biblical and theological grounding for doing justice ministry as part of congregational life.
An extensive Tool Kit is provided free through JWM. Regional trainers donate their leadership. If you have a passion for justice and want to engage your congregation, please contact Rev. Jeanne Favreau-Sorvillo at firstname.lastname@example.org or 714-856-4589 for further information or to schedule your church’s training!
