2011 Annual Gathering Report from Peppermint Ridge
by Audrey Turner, Executive Director of Peppermint Ridge
Peppermint Ridge provides homes and loving care to folks with intellectual disabilities around the clock, every day of the year. For our residents, Peppermint Ridge is not a “facility” but a home. Our care is exemplary, because we see God’s image and feel God’s Spirit in each person. Each bath and meal and load of laundry is an expression of faith.
The families of our residents say they chose Peppermint Ridge so they would not have to worry about what would become of their family member in the years to come. Because of the generosity of our supporters and the funding that has come through the State of California, we have been able to have an assurance of that stability.
About ¾ of our residents are funded under MediCal, which has now been cut by 10%. Our funding for these residents will be about $10,000 a week less than it has been. We have found some expenditures we can reduce or eliminate, but a gap will remain.
Perhaps God is calling you to a new or increased commitment to the ministry of Peppermint Ridge. At our website you can make a donation or sign up for a monthly gift as a Peppermint Partner. You can also visit our Facebook page, and recommend it to your friends and contacts.
We aim to be a constant blessing in the lives of our residents, as they are a constant blessing to us. We’d like our circle of blessing to include you!
