Pilgrim Pines Spring Ministers’ Retreat

April 27 – 28, 2011

Pilgrim Pines Camp and Reverend Felix Villanueva, Southern California Nevada Conference Minister invite all clergy to the Spring Ministers’ Retreat.  This year our retreat leader will be Rev. Dr. James D. Findlay.  You are invited to a time of rest, reflection, renewal, and an opportunity to be in fellowship with Conference staff and colleagues.

The Retreat will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27 and adjourn at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28.  Wednesday lunch through Thursday lunch and snacks are included in the $60.00 registration fee.  Registrations are due by April 18.  A $10.00 late fee will be added to registrations received after that date.

There will be time for fellowship, enjoying the beauty of the mountain, reading, resting, worship, and enrichment.  Dr. Findlay is an experienced retreat leader.  He has an ecumenical background, along with a great commitment to the UCC.  He majored in religion at Haverford College in Pennsylvania and received his M. Div. from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, a Th.M. from Harvard Divinity School, and a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible/Old Testament from Claremont Graduate University. He has worked as a community organizer, non-profit fundraiser, settled and interim local church pastor, and seminary and college professor.  He will bring his experience with many forms of practice in his spiritual journey, including yoga, Qi Gong, spiritual hymn singing, extended visits to Roman Catholic monasteries, and meditative readings of sacred texts to his leadership with colleagues.
