Well, your eleven delegates, your new Board Chair (Ann Feaver) and June, Gary and I will soon be heading to Grand Rapids Michigan to be part of the 27th General Synod of the United Church of Christ!  I wish you ALL could be there for this gathering of representatives of our whole UCC covenant community!  And though you can't be there, please know that you can check in on Synod activity and actions online at http://www.ucc.org/news/ .  So do join us 'virtually'!  And please pray in your local church worship and in your personal prayers for our delegation and all who will be there, trying to lead our national United Church of Christ faithfully.  There will be study of and action on a number of interesting resolutions which you can find on the ucc.org website. And there will be some lively and perhaps difficult discussion about how best to govern our national setting. Sacred conversations about race will be in a wide variety of topical small groups.  Plus a Saturday of speakers and special events will draw folks from around the region for some energizing UCC life together.
 
Our delegates will return from General Synod ready to share with you their experiences.  We'll do some sharing in e-news but you may also invite a Synod delegate to come and meet with your council/board or other event to share the experience.
