Eastern Association/Southern California Nevada Conference/United Church of Christ
To the Churches and Ministers of the Eastern Association:
Greetings:
The Eastern Association, on behalf of the United Church of Christ, and in cooperation with the Southern California Nevada Conference and Diamond Bar United Church of Christ, invites you to attend the commissioning of Keith Clark.
This is to be an order of worship where the people of God celebrate Christ's gift of ministry to the church. Ministerial members, members of the churches, and delegates of the Eastern Association are invited to be present at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the Diamond Bar United Church of Christ; 2335 S. Diamond Bar Blvd.; Diamond Bar, California.
Commissioning is the rite whereby the United Church of Christ through an association, in cooperation with the person and a local church of the United Church of Christ, recognizes and authorizes that member whom God has called to commissioned ministry and sets that person apart by prayer and the laying on of hands. By this rite, commissioned ministerial standing is conferred and authorization given to perform the duties and exercise the prerogatives of commissioned minister for finance, administration & communication in the United Church of Christ.
Keith Clark has been called to serve as the Executive Associate Conference Minister of the Southern California Nevada Conference of the United Church of Christ. In light of the call to this four way covenant, the Eastern Association anticipates with great joy the celebration of this commissioning.
An offering will be accepted during the service of worship for the Eastern Association Scholarship Fund to assist members in discernment with the costs of education and preparation for ministry.
Wishing you grace, mercy and peace,
Rev. Loletta Barrett
