Quick News From Jane Jane Fisler Hoffman, Interim Conference Minister Dear SCNC Friends,   This morning I was deeply saddened to learn of the sudden death yesterday of the son of Rev. John Martin, pastor of our Ventura Church of the Foothills.  John's son, Bob, was 26 years old and had been only recently married.  He died in his sleep and the cause is as yet unknown.  John tells me that there will be a private family service, yet to be scheduled.   I know you join me as part of a wide United Church of Christ circle of care and prayer surrounding John and his family.  Also grieving is not only the Ventura congregation but also our congregation in Arvin, where Bob grew up when John was pastor there, so we keep them in prayer, as well.   With you in prayer and in confidence of God's compassionate care,   Jane
