During this Annual Gathering time we are going to do a new thing! In order to tap the rich resources of our own folks and reach the areas of need and interest among our Conference covenant community, instead of pre-planned workshops, in this time frame we will experience an "Open Marketplace" of opportunities to share concerns, needs, ideas, etc. Those present who have something they want to discuss/share/explore with others will be able to name it before everyone at the start. Then space and opportunity will be provided for others to join any one of those persons around that interest and spend the rest of the time in whatever way those in that circle find of value. From 'I want to find out what brand of communion juice/wine is best" to "I want to gather youth leaders" to "I need to talk about what Christ means in my life" anything can be put in the marketplace and if others share the interest, it goes. Yes--it is open and free but not chaotic. Some of us have experienced this as a highly energized, creative and interactive way of engaging folks around their passions. Come to the Marketplace and see what the Spirit is offering!
