Multi-Cultural Field Trip
After so many people felt that last year's optional Thursday trip to the border was a valuable addition to our Conference Annual Gathering, this year we have another exciting offering on the Thursday before Annual Gathering, June 19.
Come and experience firsthand the diversity and gifts of our Southern California/Nevada conference with a multi-cultural field trip to four different UCC churches. We will begin and end the day at our host church for Annual Gathering, the First Congregational UCC in Glendale, leaving our cars in their parking lot. Busses will take our group to the Centro Familiar Cristiano, the Congregational Church of Christian Fellowship, LA Samoan Community Christian, and the LA Filipino American UCC. At each congregation, we will hear the faith story of the members of that church and their ministry, and we will listen for the stillspeaking God inviting us to weave our stories together in covenant.
We will meet at the Glendale church at 10:00 a.m., and return at 8:00 p.m. Our group will also meet on Friday morning at 9 a.m. at the Glendale church in order to reflect on our trip together. Your registration fee of $50.00 includes transportation, a box lunch for eating on the bus, and dinner at the LA Filipino American church.
Please register by Friday May 9th in order to help our planning for this exciting event! Registration can be done with a credit card online as part of your annual gathering registration, or with a check by completing the enclosed form and mailing your registration into the conference office.
